 POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing mechanical repairs of all types of pumps and related rotating equipment. Accurate tracking of hours and materials required to accomplish repairs. Provide high value customer service through efficient communication, and accurate failure analysis. Complete shop work in an efficient and timely manner, while maintaining productivity standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):

  • Responsible for disassembly, clean-up, inspection, evaluation, write-up, reassembly and testing of all types of pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, electric motors, mechanical seals, gearboxes and related equipment.
  • Operate and regularly maintain, clean, inspect and organize, work area, building, and the tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Cross train with or assist machinists, field technicians or other mechanics, as necessary.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a timely manner and work in a manner consistent with safety of self and others at all times.
  • Identify current and future pump repair tooling and equipment requirements.
  • Attend training sessions, in-service, and workshops conducted by Pro-Seal, and/or other approved agencies, for growth and self-improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 Candidates must possess the following background/skills:

  • Basic understanding of the theory, construction, troubleshooting and repair of standard electric motors or be willing to gain such knowledge through training.
  • Skills necessary to use the various products, tools, and machinery required for high quality machinery repair, and for rigging of heavy equipment.
  • Skills and experience necessary to perform in-house and field repair on pumps, and related machinery. Majority of field work performed is in all types of weather.
  • Work in accordance with the principals and procedures outlined in the QPI manual.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Provide his/her own basic mechanic’s tools in a suitable toolbox and be familiar with their use and care. Tool purchase program available.

Description

Primary Functions – Under direction of the Wastewater Sr. Technician/Area Manager, perform routine tasks necessary to ensure proper operation and mechanical integrity of Recirculating Sand Filter wastewater treatment systems & MBR wastewater treatment systems, septic tank effluent pump systems, effluent disposal drip irrigation fields and complete necessary repairs. Comply with all policies outlined in the Adenus Handbook.

Essential Functions

  • Repair/replace defective pumps, float switches, hydro-tech valve disc, ultraviolet unit bulbs and ballast 
  • Repair wastewater force main leaks/breaks
  • Repair/complete upgrades to existing treatment systems
  • Repair/replace drip field solenoid valves, ball valves, drip lines, valve boxes, hydro-tech valves
  • Replace/repair existing wastewater service lines
  • Replace/repair existing STEP tank risers and lids
  • Repair/replace STEP tank pumps, floats, check valves and piping as necessary to maintain service to the customer
  • Respond promptly to service calls and repair “STEP” system pump, floats, valves, piping, and controls as required
  • Repair yards when applicable due to maintenance
  • General maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and tools
  • Basic operation of heavy equipment
  • Emergency duty or on-call responsibility
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge/Education and Experience Required

High school diploma or GED

  • State of TN Grade 1 Collection System Certification or the ability to obtain within eighteen months.
  • Experience working with PVC pipe, pump systems and light electrical.

Skills Required

  • Read and comprehend schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic tool, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
  • Heavy equipment operation
  • Basic Computer skills 

Abilities required

  • Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Respond to on-call issues/emergencies on a 24 – hour basis
  • Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions.

Other Requirements

  • Valid Tennessee Driver License and safe driving record

  • Minimum two years underground utility experience preferred
  • Employee is subject to drug and alcohol testing according to the Adenus Handbook.

Major Responsibilities

 

Database and Software Design

  • Collaborate with the IT Manager, IT Advisor, Software Project Manager, Junior Software Project Managers, and OMRI staff to assess software needs and design new features from a user’s perspective
  • Create and revise custom user interfaces and reports in collaboration with OMRI staff
  • Work with the IT Manager and IT Advisor to design database schemas and arrange existing and custom software libraries to create the desired features

Software Programming and Implementation

  • Commit clear and well-documented code into version control systems that adheres to the principals of maintainable software
  • Identify, document, test and correct bugs in collaboration with OMRI staff
  • Update database records and schema in conjunction with code revisions
  • Develop forms and reports as needed

Training and Support

  • Collaborate with staff to prepare documentation that describes how to use software to accomplish specific tasks
  • Plan and present formal trainings to teach staff how to use the software to accomplish their tasks
  • Respond to direct requests for immediate assistance from OMRI staff by troubleshooting, solving and documenting urgent problems with custom software
  • Collaborate with IT Advisor and IT Manager to mentor Software Developers and Junior Software Developers
  • Anticipate future software project needs, understand software project interdependencies, and participate with IT Advisor, IT Manager, and Business Systems Analysts in long-term software project planning activities
  • In collaboration with IT Advisor and IT Manager, direct and anticipate Cloud (assets maintenance activities such as user management, credentialing, and operating systems maintenance
  • In collaboration with IT Advisor and IT Manager, direct and anticipate Cloud assets cybersecurity and cyber safety efforts
  • At the direction of the IT Manager, update Work Instructions, prepare Cloud assets documentation, and prepare other documents/presentations as requested
  • Deliver constructive feedback on software and design in a professional manner to Software Developers and Junior Software Developers

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree required; an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience beyond the requirements below may be considered as a substitute for the degree requirement

  • 5+ years of proven verification experience on large ASIC development projects in a hardware development setting
