SUMMARY: The Program Manager will research, evaluate, and buy products to meet our daily operational needs as well as manage supply chain inventories. Additionally, the Program Manager will be responsible for managing product life cycle and strategically sourcing private label goods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchase commodities and services to meet specialized or complex needs
- Make purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations
- Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion
- Ability to understand information, develop insights and identify opportunities when analyzing large data sets
- Place orders to procure requisitioned items or services
- Plan and manage minimum and maximum inventory levels for the distribution center
- Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date
- Develops collaborative vendor relationships. Works with vendor partners to obtain necessary details for item setup and PO entry. Tracks order and vendor shipping information to ensure on time delivery and problem solves for delivery issues.
- Price optimization through negotiating and putting items out for bid
- Constantly evaluate pricing and product inventory flow and deliveries across multiple sales channels to achieve sales, inventory, and margin targets. Closely partner with manager to proactively identify opportunities & risks in the business.
- Investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products
- Effective day-to-day product lifecycle management for product line
- Ensure data integrity of all product information
- Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite
- Other skills required:
- Strong inventory control and negotiation skills
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Experience purchasing tactical/outdoor gear preferred
